All committee members are expected to commit a minimum of one year to their positions and to attend monthly committee meetings.
Church Relations Committee
The Church Relations committee seeks to strengthen the support of the affiliates work by gaining volunteers, prayer, and financial
resources from all community churches. The committee works in partnership with churches by extending the opportunity for members
to engage in ministry by becoming involved with HFH.
Family Selection/Support Committee
The Family Selection/Support committee is responsible for drafting the selection criteria used to select families for approval
by the board of directors. The committee serves as a resource for families in the process of becoming homeowners. Once an
applicant has been approved as a prospective homeowner, the committee acts as a liaison between the family and HFH.
Site and Building Committee
This committee works to identify potential sites for construction; which includes working with local officials, neighborhood
associations, and property owners. The type of construction that best fits the needs of the local community and the Habitat
partner family are defined. The committee also proposes guidelines to the board for the type of construction work that the
affiliate will do, dealing specifically with house design criteria, materials, plans, and cost estimates.
Public Relations Committee
The PR committee is responsible for sharing Habitat's mission with the people living in the Fergus Falls area. The committee
continually seeks to raise and maintain the community's awareness of Habitat's work in ways that properly reflect the mission,
beliefs and image of HFHI through newsletters, contact with local media and active speakers bureau. Effective sharing of the
Habitat mission with the community is the responsibility of this committee.
Executive and Finance Committee
This committee identifies potential grants, writes grants, identifies and approaches potential donors (individual, church,
corporate, etc.). It also searches for in-kind gifts of material, labor, property, or support.
Volunteer Relations Committee
The Volunteer Relations committee exists to identify, recruit, orient, utilize, retain and recognize volunteers in order to
carry out the goals of Habitat for Humanity. The committee is responsible for ensuring that the program is volunteer-friendly
and conductive to a rewarding experience to maintain the highest possible level of participation.
