Church Relations Committee

The Church Relations committee seeks to strengthen the support of the affiliates work by gaining volunteers, prayer, and financial resources from all community churches. The committee works in partnership with churches by extending the opportunity for members to engage in ministry by becoming involved with HFH.

Family Selection/Support Committee

The Family Selection/Support committee is responsible for drafting the selection criteria used to select families for approval by the board of directors. The committee serves as a resource for families in the process of becoming homeowners. Once an applicant has been approved as a prospective homeowner, the committee acts as a liaison between the family and HFH.

Site and Building Committee

This committee works to identify potential sites for construction; which includes working with local officials, neighborhood associations, and property owners. The type of construction that best fits the needs of the local community and the Habitat partner family are defined. The committee also proposes guidelines to the board for the type of construction work that the affiliate will do, dealing specifically with house design criteria, materials, plans, and cost estimates.

Public Relations Committee

The PR committee is responsible for sharing Habitat's mission with the people living in the Fergus Falls area. The committee continually seeks to raise and maintain the community's awareness of Habitat's work in ways that properly reflect the mission, beliefs and image of HFHI through newsletters, contact with local media and active speakers bureau. Effective sharing of the Habitat mission with the community is the responsibility of this committee.

Executive and Finance Committee

This committee identifies potential grants, writes grants, identifies and approaches potential donors (individual, church, corporate, etc.). It also searches for in-kind gifts of material, labor, property, or support.

Volunteer Relations Committee

The Volunteer Relations committee exists to identify, recruit, orient, utilize, retain and recognize volunteers in order to carry out the goals of Habitat for Humanity. The committee is responsible for ensuring that the program is volunteer-friendly and conductive to a rewarding experience to maintain the highest possible level of participation.
