How your Donations are spent:
Every day seems to bring news of yet another scandal involving either government waste or non-profit fraud. How can you
know what non-profit to donate money to?
According to an audit conducted by Miller, McDonald Erickson and Moller, Ltd. our affiliate had a budget of $441,856 for
the year ending June 30, 2005. Of that amount only $31,502 was spent on Administration and General expenses. Only $26,851,
or 6% was spent on all fund raising (including newsletter printing and mailing). The rest, $346,651 was spent building new
homes for our families. We have no full-time staff, we do not even pay rent or utilities for office space. We sent over $5,000
to our sister affiliates in Uganda, and $4,000 towards victims of Hurricane Katrina.
