Here is the crew from Vining doing yet another great A Brush with Kindness
project. We applied DOW foam to the outside of a trailer house in Deer Creek. The family applied for help through
the program. The family also prepared the site by hanging the 2X2s on the outside, and by buying windows for replacement
at our Foxhome ReStore.

Group of the Year
The Vining men – this group of men has been the
backbone of our volunteer effort. They built the Thrivent house, they built the
Vining house, they have harvested materials, and completed “Brush with Kindness”
projects.
Volunteer Business of
the Year
This year’s volunteer business of the year is the
law firm of Pemberton, Sorlie, Rufer, Kershner PLLP.They have been our source
of legal advice and
support since 1991.We especially want
to recognize Robert Bigwood for his years of dedicated service to our
affiliate.
Our Habitat for Humanity Affiliate operates in western Otter Tail, Grant, Wilkin counties of Minnesota, and Richland
County, North Dakota. We are always looking for volunteers so check out the Current Volunteer Calendar page.

The Catholic Daughters House is now dedicated, sold, and the homeowners are moving in. That means that in 2009 we
have already completed two homes. One in Vining, and one in Fergus Falls, plus we are working on a rehab. in Fairmount,
ND. As the weather warms up we will be working on the lawns. Plus we have concrete slabs for a garage at the Catholic
Daughters house, and a parking area for the Thrivent house.

The home was dedicated on April 18, and now we are doing yard work and building a shed.
